UAP’s Thrasher herbicide registered

A combination Group 4 and 6 herbicide has picked up registration for broadleaf weed control in Prairie spring wheat and barley.

UAP Canada now holds the registration for Thrasher, which is made for UAP by MANA Canada, the Canadian wing of the Israeli generic crop protection company Makhteshim Agan Industries.

“Thrasher has a fit for growers who are battling kochia, including Group 2 herbicide-resistant kochia,” said Garth Render, UAP Canada’s Winnipeg-based marketing manager, in a release Wednesday.

The product offers control of broadleaf weeds also including cow cockle, mustards, volunteer canola (including herbicide-tolerant canolas) and wild buckwheat, the company said.

MANA Canada commercial manager Dale Kushner said Thrasher is tank-mixable with Achieve Liquid, Avenge 200-C, Everest 70DF, Horizon or Puma Super for “one-shot grassy and broadleaf weed control.”
