After many years as a specialist with Alberta Agriculture, Art Lange launched a second career also a number of years ago now, as a farm business management consultant.
Lange works with clients on key management areas such as financial and succession planning. He’s also a fairly regular contributor to Grainews. Following is a message from Lange, of AJL Consulting on some of his recent presentations.

I recently did some extension work on a farm business area that I feel has been neglected. Creating strong farm teams and business plans (or more specifically, lack of same) is a topic that has been on my mind for some time. In the fall of 2021 I worked with several organizations to address these two topics to make farmers aware of them and hopefully start to address them. Thus, the following initiatives resulted:
