Farmers Mutual Hail Insurance Co. of Iowa has made its first venture outside the U.S., buying the 80 per cent of Prairie crop hail insurance firm Palliser Insurance it didn’t already own, for an undisclosed amount.
FMH CEO Shannon Rutledge said in a release in February that Palliser’s “regional expertise, knowledge and accomplishments…will contribute to our long-term strategy of strengthening and enhancing our core crop insurance business.”
Based in Saskatoon, Palliser works with a network of over 100 adjusters across the three Prairie provinces. The company’s CEO Ken Doleman said in the same release that the two companies’ “common culture and shared values, combined with FMH’s long-standing expertise in crop insurance, will serve to strengthen our deep commitment and value-added approach to service excellence.”
