Canola futures were higher on Thursday despite weaker Chicago soyoil and crude oil pulling back from earlier gains. Meanwhile, U.S. grains and oilseeds were up amidst weak weekly export numbers. Canola futures were weaker on Wednesday as a result of profit-taking and a drop in WTI crude oil prices. However, U.S. grains were higher, especially wheat which recovered Tuesday’s losses. Here’s Adam Peleshaty from The Western Producer with your March 18 closing grain and oilseed market update.

Canola recovered most of the heavy losses it suffered from the day before, as well as Chicago soyoil. However, soybeans were only slightly higher, while corn was steady and wheat was down despite hot weather coming to much of the United States.
