Note to subscribers: Planting a new seed for Grainews

Growing the kernels of insight you rely on

Published: 2 minutes ago

Western Producer editor Robin Booker walks us through some of the changes you'll notice in this week's edition of the Western Producer.

Grainews is evolving, and we’re excited about what’s next. Starting in February, you’ll find Grainews inside The Western Producer as part of a new Farm Work section.

Why we’re excited

Farmers told us they want one place to get everything they need for the farm. We listened. By joining The Western Producer, we can bring you the same practical, trusted content you expect from Grainews in a more seamless package.

Farm families gain clarity from financial transparency

On family farms, especially multi-generational operations, being open about finances isn’t just good practice — it’s essential for business survival and harmonious relationships, Alyssa Brown writes.

You’ll continue to get the farmer-to-farmer insight that has always defined Grainews, including work from writers you count on. Scott Garvey, Don Norman and others will help you stay ahead of trends, deepen your knowledge and support your decisions on the farm. Engaging content from dee Hobsbawn-Smith will move as well.

This change also helps us manage Canada Post disruptions and gives you easier access in print and online. Throughout the transition, we’ll invite your feedback. We want to keep improving, and we continue to put farmers first.

What to expect

Your subscription will become part of The Western Producer. You don’t need to do anything. If you already subscribe to The Western Producer, we’ll be in touch with an offer tailored to your unique situation.

You’ll still see the grain kernel that has long been part of the Grainews logo. Inside The Western Producer, that kernel will guide you to your new home for Grainews content in the Farm Work section.

If you have questions or want to talk with us, you can call Farmer Services at 1-800-665-1362. This is optional. You don’t need to contact us for your subscription to continue.

We’re excited that you’re coming with us on this next step. Thank you for being part of the Grainews community and for joining us as we move into The Western Producer together.
