Kuhn North America has introduced its new FC 61 TC and TL mower conditioner line with several improvements.

Kuhn North America has introduced its “next generation” of mower conditioners. The brand says the new FC 61 TC and TL series machines include several design improvements and are capable of delivering a broader range of windrow widths.

To keep crop flowing smoothly through them, the new Optidisc Elite cutterbar uses a flat, streamlined profile so soil and crop residue do not accumulate, letting material flow smoothly, even in tough crop conditions. The implements have a very slim profile, enabling short cut heights with a flat cutterbar angle. Because of the reduced dirt and crop accumulation, blade life is extended.

Can-Am rolls out 2026 upgrades

Ranchers and other ATV and UTV users can expect to see updates to Quebec-based BRP’s Can-Am line for 2026, including a new Defender side-by-side UTV and a battery-electric version of the Outlander ATV.

The Optidisc Elite cutterbar also uses the brand’s Fast-Fit feature which allows for quick knife changes using a special tool to quickly release and replace them. The cutterbar comes filled with synthetic gear oil from the factory, and along with the durable construction of the polished gears inside it, the brand claims the need for regular oil changes for the entire life of the machine is eliminated. The drive shaft also uses maintenance-free U-joints, eliminating the need for regular greasing there, too.

The FC 61 TC and TL series models offer three different conditioner options. The DigiDry finger conditioner is intended for consistent drying of grass and legume crops in various conditions with little maintenance. The Diamond Block rubber rollers have a horizontal staggered diamond pattern. That creates more points for the crop to be crimped as it flows off the cutting disc from different angles. The DoubleCrimp steel roller is designed to ensure more consistent crimping and even feeding of thicker crops, as well as offering extended life in difficult and abrasive conditions.

The brand says the heavy-duty Gyrodine gearbox on the new FC 61 series should withstand the most severe pull-through force from the hitch to the machine. The swivel hitch design allows for turns in excess of 90 degrees while still keeping the PTO driveline straight to minimize U-joint wear, vibration and the risk of damage. This design also allows for extremely tight turns that create clean, square corners in the field.

The FC 61 TC series model offers cutting widths from 10 feet two inches (3.09 metres) to 14 feet five inches (4.39 metres), and the TL series model stretches from nine feet two inches (2.79 metres) to 11 feet six inches (3.5 metres).
