Agco-Deere patent dispute ends

In January a U.S. federal appeals court dismissed an appeal by John Deere of a patent infringement case against Agco. In July 2022 a Delaware jury concluded Precision Planting’s SpeedTube-vSet2 product, a high-speed planting system, did not infringe on Deere’s intellectual property.

Precision Planting is an Agco brand.

Agco said in a statement it’s “pleased with the court decision in favour of Agco and Precision Planting. This ruling validates our commitment to innovation and the integrity of our products. We remain dedicated to delivering high-quality solutions to our customers and will continue to focus on advancing our technology.”

Deere taps startups to explore sensing, AI tech for farm uses

John Deere has named five companies to its 2026 Startup Collaborator Program, exploring emerging technologies for farm use including soil sensing, AI and predictive equipment monitoring.

In its conclusion the appeals court said it’s “considered Deere’s remaining arguments and find them unpersuasive.”
