Jost’s Quicke brand has announced the introduction of new front-end loader grab attachments for round bales, the Unigrip L+ and XL+. The Unigrip’s compression grab design makes it suitable for picking up wrapped silage bales without puncturing the plastic wrap.

Because of their adjustable backstops, the Unigrip attachments can lift and secure two bales stacked on top of each other at the same time.

“We set out to create a bale grab that gives you both robustness and efficiency,” Henrik Jönsson, product manager implements at Quicke, said in a press release.

Swather-sprayer retrofit a clever solution to winter wheat’s tight planting window

A system to spray pre-seed herbicide at the same time as swathing isn’t just a clever labour-saver, but could help overcome one of the biggest obstacles keeping Prairie farmers out of winter wheat: the timing.

The L+ version can handle bales from 120 to 160 cm (47-63 inches). The XL+ version has a larger capacity, allowing it to pick up bales as wide as 190 cm (75 inches).

The brand claims one of the key features of the Unigrip L+ is its ability to handle bales softly while firmly holding them in place, allowing producers to transport them without damaging or excessively compressing them. Both the Unigrip L+ and XL+ grabs come standard with a pressure restrictor valve to limit compression pressure.

The optional equalizer bar allows for synchronized arm movement, which lets it work like a two-cylinder bale grab. The Unigrip grabs are compatible with most loaders. In 2026 the brand expects to release S+ and M+ versions, designed for smaller bales.

Quicke, based in Sweden, has been part of Jost since 2020, when the German company bought Quicke’s parent Ålö Holdings.
