For fluffy rice:
Add 1 tablespoon lemon juice and
1 teaspoon butter (OR maragine) and 2 teaspoons salt when cooking
2 cups rice with 4 cups water.
To keep whipping cream stiff: Add 1 tablespoon skim milk powder when beating the cream.
For lighter no-fail bread:
Add 1 tablespoon lemon juice OR 1 tablespoon vinegar to dough when mixing.
For fork-tender beef:
Wrap well-seasoned roast in foil. Roast and don’t open foil until ready to eat. The juices inside the package can then be used to make a delicious gravy.

Add 2 tablespoons corn syrup to your cookie recipe.

or carrots when boiling, for better flavour and less sodium.
Washing fruits and vegetables:
Use a solution of 1 tablespoon vinegar and 1 litre of warm water to wash fruits and veggies. Rinse with cool water.
Fruit fly trap: Punch holes in an empty margarine container lid with a knitting needle. Place a well-ripened piece of banana in the tub. Replace the lid and watch how the flies fly in, but can’t get out. Empty, wash and reuse if necessary. It works beautifully.
