A vice-president with Archer Daniels Midland’s Asia Pacific operations has moved to take on the same job for Viterra.
Stephen Yu has worked for ADM since 1993, most recently as its corporate vice-president and managing director, Asia Pacific, handling commercial activity in the region including 25 operations in China, Viterra said.
Working for Regina-based Viterra, effective immediately, as its vice-president and managing director for Asia, Yu will be based in Singapore and will report to Don Chapman, Viterra’s senior vice-president for international grain.
Yu’s job will be to “develop and implement the company’s international growth platform in the Asian region,” Viterra said in a release Monday.
Yu’s “experience in establishing and developing business operations will help us secure new markets in Asia, allowing us to expand Viterra’s expertise and bring greater value and service for our producers and end-use customers,” said Viterra CEO Mayo Schmidt.
