Winnipeg, April 5 (CNS Canada) – Following are a few highlights in the Canadian and world pulse markets on Tuesday, April 5.

– A study by researchers at Toronto’s St. Michael’s Hospital published in The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, has shown that adding one serving of pulses to the daily diet (3/4 cup) can help people lose weight without any additional adjustments to diet or activity. “Though the weight loss was small, our findings suggest that simply including pulses in your diet may help you lose weight, and we think more importantly, prevent you from gaining it back after you lose it,” said Dr. Russell de Souza, the study’s lead author.
