Editor’s Rant: All eggs, no basket
Bill C-202 wound up pitting farmer against farmer for political reasons at a time when an unwritten law of Canadian politics remains very much in effect anyway.

In your opinion, what is the most-pressing issue facing Canadian farmers?
Interprovincial trade barriers need to be dealt with, including associations protecting their own turf. Vets Doctor and other professionals must be able to move easily with in Canada. Trade disputes with China need to be settled . take away the 100% tariff on their electric cars and see how many are actually sold here . We all need to access cheaper and greener forms of transport. $60000 for a electric car is not viable for most of us. driving to the grocery store in a heavy truck only helps the oil industry. As a small farmer I am a dying breed in western Canada. profitability is only achieved on a larger scale ,Canola has made me profitable maybe expanding the bio-diesel production would help give the Coop an interest free loan to expand the refinery to produce bio-fuels in Regina. Regards Robin.
If you could ask any of the political leaders a question, what would that question be and who would you ask?
If we need free trade with China, why Not let their cheap electric cars in they are not in competition with the expensive cars made elsewhere in the world. the stores here are already filled with Chinese goods.

We need to develop our resources and be able to get them to world markets! Not just the USA. We also need to get a grip on immigration; letting in only the ones that want to become Canadians, follow our rules, and become working-class Canadians. End the free handouts to people who have never worked in Canada
Indermohan (Saskatchewan):
What issues do you want to see federal politicians address?
Trade and tariffs; AgriStability/support for agriculture
In your opinion, what is the most-pressing issue facing Canadian farmers?
I think any elected govt. Should be looking at caping the profit margin of big companies like Nutrien, shell, loblaws and others, in covid times grain prices increased and so do fertlizer prices so profit potential was there but now grain prices are rock bottom but fertlizer prices are still at covid time high, same is in other areas i got more than $8/bu for Oats in covid time but now price is hardly around $3.50/bu which is less than even half but fertlizer prices still same as in covid time, same is in grocery shops low grain prices have failed to give any break to consumers as retailers like loblaws are enjoying the benefit of low grain prices, petro companies also show same trend once the price are jacked up no respite even if crude oil prices go down substantially, this is insane and needs to be looked into. What was the outcome of calling loblaws ceo to parliament and grilling him for high prices, nothing…
If you could ask any of the political leaders a question, what would that question be and who would you ask?
On the same issue mentioned above… Capping profit margins.
Walker (Manitoba):

Trade and tariffs; AgriStability/support for agriculture; Capital gains tax rules; Government spending/debt; Carbon tax; Broadband connectivity/infrastructure; Farm labour issues
In your opinion, what is the most-pressing issue facing Canadian farmers?
Terrified. Market expansion support.
If you could ask any of the political leaders a question, what would that question be and who would you ask?
To federal party leaders. How do they envision the way to over come inter provincial trade barriers.
Brett (Alberta):
What issues do you want to see federal politicians address?
AgriStability/support for agriculture; Capital gains tax rules; Government spending/debt; Carbon tax
In your opinion, what is the most-pressing issue facing Canadian farmers?
High cost of inputs, high cost of machinery, combined with lower prices for agricultural products are creating a financial crisis for farmers, especially the ones with a lot of debt.
If you could ask any of the political leaders a question, what would that question be and who would you ask?
This would be addressed to any of the leaders. Of all the promises you’re going to make during this campaign how many of you are actually going to keep? I’m sick and tired of politicians promising the moon and delivering nothing. I wonder sometimes how smart politicians are. They seem to avoid responsibility for their poor decisions, even though the opposition parties point out what they’re doing is wrong and not working. However, in typical political fashion, they always say oh we know we can do better, we need to work harder. The biggest danger to this country is not Trump. It is the inter provincial trade barriers. This is a topic that seems to be revisited quite often and nothing ever happens. I’d like to know when politicians are truly going to be working for the benefit of Canadians and not the elite who seemed to be running the country. The last 10 years have showed us The liberals were only benefiting the insiders and not ordinary Canadians.
