In the 1980s, Germany-based Lemken, which specializes in tillage equipment, introduced its “Dural” hardened wear parts to improve service life on ground-engaging components. Ten years ago it introduced the DuraMax line of wear parts, which offered another 15 per cent improvement in wear resistance over the Dural parts.
This year Lemken has announced it’s expanding its list of DuraMax hardened components, which will now include the discs on its Rubin line of compact disc harrows. The company claims the new carbide steel will lengthen disc life by 20 per cent, reducing routine maintenance costs.
