WINNIPEG, July 27 (CNS Canada) – Following are a few highlights in the Canadian and world feed grains markets on Wednesday, July 27.
– The USDA’s Foreign Agricultural Service in Russia has revised its grain production forecast for the country to 107.7 million tonnes, a four per cent increase from April. Of the total, wheat is pegged at 65 million tonnes, barley at 17.5 million tonnes and corn at 13.5 million tonnes.
– Winter barley harvests are underway in Britain and grain samples are showing quality issues, according to reports.
– Extreme heat and humidity in South Dakota is stressing crops, according to the USDA. However, winter wheat harvested was 82 per cent, which is still ahead of last year by 36 per cent.
– Feed barley in Western Canada remained steady with top prices of C$3.15 to C$4.25 per bushel, according to Prairie Ag Hotwire. Feed Wheat also remained steady with top prices ranging from C$4.50 to C$5.99 per bushel.
