Feed Grains: Armyworm spotted in North Dakota wheat crops

WINNIPEG, July 8 (CNS Canada) – Following are a few highlights in the Canadian and world feed grains markets on Friday, July 8.

– For the week ending July 3, Canada exported 258,400 tonnes of wheat, 107,300 tonnes of corn and 1,000 tonnes of barley.

– Haying in Saskatchewan is underway, with 18 per cent of hay crop cut and 11 per cent baled or put into silage, according to Saskatchewan crop reports.

– Armyworm has been reported in North Dakota, damaging wheat crops.

– Feed barley rose 10 cents in Saskatchewan with top prices settling at C$3.50 per bushel, according to Prairie Ag Hotwire. In Manitoba, feed barley dropped 30 cents with top prices at $3.45 per bushel.

– Feed wheat dropped $1.25 in Manitoba, with top prices settling at $4.50 per bushel, according to Prairie Ag Hotwire.
