The growing season takes place and things happen along the way — moments, characters, oddities. Every year, our dogs play a leading role on the farm. They are excited to be among the busyness on the yard. They enjoy following the tractor when we’re close to home. And, in the middle of summer, when all of the creatures the Prairies have to offer are out and about, you never know what you’re going to see or what is going to inspire you.
This summer, a baby fox seeking refuge in a tree caught my attention, pigeons in an Edgar Allan Poeish scene of gray bins on a dreary day, our dog with me on the field, bees doing their amazing and fascinating work and a turtle scurrying away from the lens toward the water.
