One of the most-hated jobs on a livestock farm is pressure washing.
It’s wet and dirty and manure backsplash is inevitable.
A Swedish company has created a precise automated sprayer that takes the human out of pressure washing. Evo Cleaner is available from New Standard Ag across Canada, and it was displayed at Ag In Motion near Langham, Sask.
Pressure washing is also one of the most important, especially on hog and poultry farms where cleaning between groups is critical to reduce disease risk.

Kolby Woods of New Standard Ag says the washer head sprays 360 degrees, and the arm on the unit extends 19.6 feet, so the washer reaches all the places in the barn that need washing. There is little need for follow-up washing, says Woods, as the unit is so precise.
However, the precision is only as good as the plan fed into the machine, so farmers will need to set the prescription properly and Woods says that New Standard Ag will help to set up the unit.
“If you want to get every nook and cranny, every piece of that stall, then you would basically program it to do that. And if you just want to do a quick wash in and out, then you just back and forth program it to be quick washed,” says Woods.
The more precise nature of the Evo Cleaner means it will use less water than broader spraying pressure washing machines.
The unit runs on a battery and it can work for 30 to 40 hours before recharging is needed.
