A Saskatchewan fuel and chemical distribution company’s plan to market an on-farm bulk storage option for glyphosate now includes DuPont Canada as the chemical supplier.
Rack Petroleum (“The Rack”) on Wednesday announced an agreement with DuPont under which the chemical giant will supply its new off-patent glyphosate product, Polaris, for The Rack’s new “Racketeer” storage system.
DuPont recently sourced a North American glyphosate supply and plans to launch Polaris this year as a complement for its sulfonylurea products.
The Rack’s Racketeer bulk system, launched earlier this year, is billed as a convenient way for farmers to store their glyphosate on-farm in tanks “specially designed” to meet stringent storage and environmental requirements.

When launching the product on its website, The Rack pledged that its drivers would deliver a “high quality, North American-made” glyphosate.
The Racketeer tanks’ pumps and valves are meant to “maintain security while supplying quick, efficient performance,” the company said, adding on its website that the tanks “look good in your yard, too.”
“Our goal is to make things simpler and more efficient for growers,” The Rack’s president Dennis Bulani said Wednesday in a release. “By working with DuPont to supply the glyphosate for our system, we can offer fair pricing with the assurance of quality and service.”
The Racketeer glyphosate storage system “has an excellent fit with our sulfonylurea products such as Express SG and Express PRO, so Racketeer customers will be able to take full advantage of the value and service we provide with our complete herbicide portfolio,” Priscila Vansetti, business director for DuPont Canada Crop Protection, said in The Rack’s release.
Based at Biggar, about 90 km west of Saskatoon, The Rack’s businesses include supplying fertilizer, bulk diesel and gasoline and farm chemicals, as well as self-serve cardlock gas stations in five communities. The company also offers custom chemical application and agronomy services for farmers.
