Agrotain, a “stabilized nitrogen” fertilizer, has picked up approval for a dry-concentrate formulation for Canadian farmers.
Agrotain’s St. Louis-based manufacturer, Agrotain International, said in a release Tuesday that Agrotain Dry Concentrate (DC) “is now available for sale in the Canadian market” after a review by the fertilizer section of the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA).
The new product has the same active ingredient as Agrotain Liquid Concentrate, the company said. However, the Agrotain DC formulation will mean “less product to handle and store, reducing distributor and dealer warehouse requirements.”
The company’s “StabilizedNitrogen” products are meant to reduce nitrogen losses from urea and UAN.
Agrotain DC can also be subjected to freezing temperatures without an impact on the performance of the product, and it can be handled and mixed more easily in cold weather, the company said.
Production is underway for the new product and shipments are scheduled, the company said.
