WINNIPEG, November 24 – The Canadian dollar was mostly unchanged against its US counterpart in early activity on Thursday, as US markets are closed for Thanksgiving.
At 8:50 CST Thursday, the Canadian dollar was at US$0.7408 or US$=C$1.3500, which compares with Wednesday’s North American close of US$0.7410 or US$1=C$1.3496.
In Canadian domestic data, average weekly earnings of non-farm payroll employees were C$957 in September, virtually unchanged from the previous month—down 0.1 per cent—and up 0.4 per cent from 12 months earlier, Statistics Canada said in a report on Thursday.
The TSX was up 8.24 points at 8:50 CST Thursday morning to sit at 15,089.15.
