Canadian dollar and business outlook

WINNIPEG, November 6 The Canadian dollar weakened against its US counterpart Friday morning as both countries released job growth data.

At 8:40 a.m. CST the Canadian dollar was at US$0.7542 or C$1.3259 which compares with Thursday’s North American close of US$0.7594, or C$1.3168.

Canada added 44,000 jobs in October, compared with the US adding 271,000 in the same month. Both figures outpaced analyst projections.

At 8:40 a.m. New York mercantile crude oil futures futures had lost US$0.49 to sit at US$44.71 a barrel.

The TSX was weaker in early activity, down 2.16 points at 8:40 a.m. CST to sit at 13,556.62.
