WINNIPEG, June 15- The Canadian dollar was weaker than its US counterpart Monday morning after Statistics Canada released its monthly manufacturing survey, finding that sales fell for the third time in four months.

At 8:45 a.m. CDT the Canadian dollar was at US$0.8110 or C$1.2330 which compares with Friday’s North American close of US$0.8123, or C$1.2311.

Manufacturing sales dropped 2.1 per cent to C$49.8 billion in April, Statistics Canada said Monday. The decline reflected lower sales of food—the lowest it has fallen in two years, aerospace products and parts, petroleum and coal products.

The TSX was weaker in early activity, down 89.73 points at 8:45 a.m. CDT to sit at 14,741.15.
