PHOTOCONTEST – for Sep. 6, 2010

Kristen Philips of Brandon, Man., snapped this picture of her nephew Kristian Beek, aged three, on a recent crop-scouting trip. She says, “Kristian came out to the wheat field with me to scout for pre-harvest spraying. He told me the wheat was ready because it wasn’t soft on his face anymore. I told him the wheat was ready to go because you could make gum out of the seeds!” The photo is taken on SW-36-9-20 in the Roseland Community.

We welcome your photos. But before you send one, make sure the focus is crisp and, if it’s a photo of people, we want to see the whites of their eyes. In a four by six-inch print, faces should be at least the size of a quarter. Emailed digital photos with medium to high resolution work best. Scans of prints are rarely good enough to reprint. If we use your photo, we’ll send you $25. — Lyndsey
