Gerry Damphousse sent in this photo of harvesting winter wheat taken this August. The wheat, he says, was yielding 75 bushels per acre. Gerry works for Parent Bros. Inc. at St. Joseph, Man., where they farm about 3,500 acres of winter wheat, spring wheat, oats, canola, canaryseed and edible beans. The windmill in the picture is a half-mile from Gerry’s home, and is part of the 59 other windmills at St. Joseph.
Thanks for sending in the photo, Gerry. There’s $25 on its way to you as our thank you. If you’d like to see your photo in Grainews, digital files are preferred. Send them to [email protected]
