Photocontest – for Nov. 8, 2010

Brooklyn Wirgau took some time in early October to check out a cob of corn before the row got chopped. Mum Cynthia took the photo while harvesting the good-looking cow feed near Narcisse, Man. Cynthia says that harvest was about half done at this point and that the crop yielded well in spite of all the moisture this year. There was standing water still in ruts of the field, but they managed to stay unstuck all but once.

Thanks for sending in the photo, Cynthia. There’s a cheque for $25 on its way to you for your trouble.

We welcome your photos. But before you send one, make sure the focus is crisp and, if it’s a photo of people, we want to see the whites of their eyes. In a 4×6-incha print, faces should be at least the size of a quarter. Emailed digital photos with medium to high resolution work best. Scans of prints are rarely good enough to reprint. If we use your photo, we’ll send you $25.
