Photocontest – for May. 2, 2011

Little Nate Zurkan, aged 16 months at the time, checks on the heifers at grandma and grandpa’s farm near Ochre River, Man. Proud grandparents, Gerald and Dorothy de Vries were enjoying the Thanksgiving weekend, when Nate came out from Winnipeg to visit. The de Vries milk 95 cows and crop 600 acres, along with haying 350 acres of alfalfa. Nate’s mom Peggy snapped this photo. Thanks for sending it along!

We welcome your photos. But before you send one, make sure the focus is crisp and, if it’s a photo of people, we want to see the whites of their eyes. In a 4×6-inch print, faces should be at least the size of a quarter. Emailed digital photos with medium to high resolution work best. Scans of prints are rarely good enough to reprint. If we use your photo, we’ll send you $25.
