Little William Gust, aged six months at the time, tries his hand at being a cowboy. William’s dad Billy sent in the photo and says this was taken at his sister and brother-in- law’s house on New Year’s Day. Billy farms with his brother Gerrid and his family and their parents Steven and Lorraine Gust of Davidson, Sask. While they farm mainly grain, Billy says they do have cattle, too, so if William does want to be a cowboy one day, he’s got cows waiting to be taken care of.
I let Billy know that I’d be sending him a cheque for $25 for the photo and he asked that instead the money be sent to the Children’s Hospital Foundation of Saskatchewan. As a fellow Saskatchewan parent, I thank him from the bottom of my heart.
We welcome your photos. But before you send one, make sure the focus is crisp and, if it’s a photo of people, we want to see the whites of their eyes. In a 4×6-inch print, faces should be at least the size of a quarter. Emailed digital photos with medium to high resolution work best. Scans of prints are rarely good enough to reprint. If we use your photo, we’ll send you $25.
