Jacob, aged five and at left, and Edward Tschetter, aged three, pose with one impressive-looking root vegetable dug out of the family garden. Jacob and Edward’s family farm about 7,000 acres of canola, wheat, barley and oats, near Minburn, Alta. The boys also love to help with the family’s 1.5-acre garden, the source of this massive carrot measuring 19 inches.
Many thanks to dad, Ken, for sending in the photo. There’s $25 headed your way in the mail for your trouble.
We welcome your photos. But before you send one, make sure the focus is crisp and, if it’s a photo of people, we want to see the whites of their eyes. In a 4×6-inch print, faces should be at least the size of a quarter. Emailed digital photos with medium to high resolution work best. Scans of prints are rarely good enough to reprint. If we use your photo, we’ll send you $25. — Lyndsey
