The Alberta Grains Council has relaunched its Choice Matters website, providing information that grain producers need to make informed decisions about the future of the grain marketing system in Alberta. Choice Matters was launched in 2006, and since then has helped to keep producers abreast of wheat-and barley-marketing information and options. The website has been redesigned and provides up-to-date information and links in one location guaranteeing all information is available with a maximum of three clicks of the mouse.
The Choice Matters website also provides information to producers on the upcoming Canadian Wheat Board elections. The Canadian Wheat Board will be holding director elections from September 7 to December 3 to elect directors in Districts 1, 3, 5, 7 and 9. District 1 is located entirely within Alberta while districts 3 and 5 are partially located in Alberta and Saskatchewan. The Canadian Wheat Board is the sole marketing agency for Prairie wheat and barley destined for export or for human consumption in Canada.
Choice Matters is dedicated to providing information regarding alternatives for the marketing of grain and barley in Western Canada. To find out more information about Choice Matters producers can call 310-FARM (3276) or visit www.agriculture.alberta.ca/choicematters
