ICE canola regaining lost ground

WINNIPEG, MB, Jan. 11, 2019 (CNS Canada) – ICE Futures canola contracts were stronger Friday morning, trying to recover from some of Thursday’s losses.
Farmer deliveries were down this week, according to the latest data from the Canadian Grain Commission. For the week ending Jan. 6, 230,600 tonnes of canola was delivered to Canadian elevators, down about 300,000 tonnes from the previous week.
Exports are also running behind pace from last year, according to the CGC data. Only 974,900 tonnes of canola exported this year as of Jan. 6, compared to 998,400 last year.
Chicago Board of Trade soybean and contracts were stronger, while soymeal contracts were weaker.
About 2,200 canola contracts had traded as of 8:41 CST Friday morning.
