New equipment from Case IH

Updated big square baler and new seeding options introduced

Despite the recent difficulties and disruptions in production caused by COVID-19 at all equipment manufacturers, CNH’s two brands, New Holland and Case IH, had several new or updated machines to debut this past year. Among those introduced wearing Case IH red are an addition to that brand’s large square baler line along with new drill and planter models.

The introduction of Case IH’s LB436 HD large square baler means producers can pack a lot more hay or straw into each bale. This baler delivers the highest bale density of any existing model in the Case IH large square baler family. The baler uses seven hydraulic cylinders to apply pressure on the chamber in order to create well-formed high-density bales.

The LB436 HD bale chamber is 16 per cent longer than other models in the Case IH line and crams material into it with up to 50 per cent more plunger force at 48 strokes per minute. “A fully automatic bale density control system helps achieve higher, more consistent densities and bale weights — even in changing field conditions,” claims the brand in its press announcement.

The new TwinPro knotter system ties a stronger knot to help prevent breakage, and the baler can be controlled by any tractor with an ISOBUS Class 3-compatible terminal.

“The LB436 HD prioritizes density and ease of use,” said Brian Spencer, Case IH hay and forage equipment marketing manager. “The advanced technology and exclusive features deliver the performance, simplicity and reliability that today’s commercial hay growers are looking for.”

Precision Disk 500 series air drills

The brand is also adding to its Precision Disk 500 series air drills and 2000 series Early Riser planters with two new configurations.

A new, single-rank tool bar with 15-inch spacing is available for the Precision Disk 500T single disk air drill, an option the company says is ideal for seeding soybeans and other specialty crops in both no-till and conventional tillage fields.

The single-rank design is available in 30- and 40-foot working widths with either a 70- or 100-bushel seed tank. The Precision Disk 500T model also gets in-cab row unit down-pressure control and a tank-mounted weigh scale for easier calibration and loading.

The 2130 Early Riser stack-fold planter will now be available in a new 18-row configuration with 30-inch spacing. This layout is new to the 2130 Early Riser stack-fold planter line, which also is available in 12-row, 30-, 36-, 38- or 40-inch spacing, and 16-row, 30-inch spacing models.
