CFIA suspends operations at Beking Poultry Farm

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) said July 9 that it has suspended the registration of Beking Poultry Farm, a federally registered shell egg producer in Oxford Station, Ontario.

CFIA said the registration was suspended because the operator was not meeting the standards for the Canada A grade as stated in the Egg Regulations. CFIA inspectors consistently discovered a large number of cracks in eggs from this facility.

CFIA said the farm will not be able to resume operations under federal jurisdiction until it has fully implemented the necessary corrective actions and the CFIA is confident that the required standards can be consistently maintained.
