What language are we talking?

Following is part of a news release I received this morning, which really brought home a fundamental message — I sure do miss the simplicity of my Dick and Jane reader.

There are many areas of agriculture, agri-business and new technology that I don’t understand — some just a little bit, and some of it a lot. But I read these couple paragraphs about the mystical cryptocurrency and I think “man, is this stuff ever out of my league.”

I am sure there are some people who can read this and know it is great news. I supposed it just reminds me too how quickly things change, and I’m just getting old.

Anyway, the news release said:

“As the world of cryptocurrencies evolves into crypto assets and tokenization, our solutions must also expand in their ability to make blockchain-based data work with existing business practices…. We will continue to support the proliferation of crypto assets with our market-leading middle and back office platform while expanding our efforts into new data products.

“Our mission is to fill the gap between the blockchain ecosystem and the existing enterprise ecosystem. Current back and middle office or legacy systems cannot natively support crypto assets, which creates a fundamental barrier to adoption at scale….(our service) will enable institutions to seamlessly interface with the quickly evolving crypto asset ecosystem in a validated, compliant and secure manner.”

I believe it has something to do with new technology that makes it easier for your local bank to connect with the new system of digital currency. I’m not going to over think it, I don’t believe it really affects my life.

I’ll stick with my own financial narrative: “See Lee run to the bank. See Lee get money from the instant teller.

Jane says “let’s go shopping”.

Lee says “No, Jane we can’t afford it.”

Jane says, “Maybe the government will send us money.”

Lee says, “Right Jane, dream on – smoke another joint.”
