New draper headers from Case IH

Upgraded 3100 Series II rigid and flex heads now available

Recently, Case IH announced it upgraded its combine header line with the introduction of the new 3100 Series II rigid and flex draper models. The brand claims these new designs now incorporate a total of 118 product enhancements made since the original 3100 Series was introduced. Those changes allow for improved durability and ground-following capabilities.

The Case IH 3162 Series II TerraFlex headers now use a new airbag suspension in the centre section. Another introduction is the cast flex arms with cut outs that help prevent material buildup.

“With the Series II updates, we provide superior flotation regardless of harvesting conditions,” said Ryan Blasiak, harvest marketing manager, in the press release. “If it’s necessary to harvest in soft conditions, producers can feel confident their header won’t push in the field.”

According to the brand, the new CentraCut Knife Drive is another of those upgrades. A centre-mounted knife drive improves performance across the cutter bar and minimizes cutter bar vibration, and it offers two times the cutting force of a dual wobble box and three times as much as headers using a single wobble box. Helical-cut gears ensure the cutter bar never falls out of timing.

The new headers offer working widths from 30 to 45 feet.
